I bought these to replace the Brooks Glycerin 15 (which were very poorly made). These shoes appear to be very well constructed, especially in the soles. These shoes also provide a great deal of support, especially arch support, so they are great for high arches. They fit my foot well, which is narrower through the ankle and wider in the toe box. My days of trail running are over, but the heavy duty sole and the toe protection of the toe box have made these excellent for walking the trails. I don’t usually like the “quicklace” type of laces, but these actually work very well and they have grown on me. The ventilation in these shoes is also very good, which makes it ideal for the climates like Florida. If you need a pair of waterproof hiking/running shoes, I would recommend the Salomon Women’s X Ultra Prime CS Waterproof W Hiking Shoe – the fit is very similar to these, but a little narrower through the toe box (just be warned, because they are waterproof, they are warm, so not good for the hotter months in places like Florida unless waterproof is a necessity).
